Intro

Mango in ja i, si ya na o, Mango in ja i, si ya no a. (x 2)

Mon papa m´appelle I, ma maman m´appelle O, ma maîtresse m´appelle A, mes amis m´appellent IYOA.

Rien. Pas un bruit, pas une lueur.
— J´ai peur...! il se met à pleurer.

— Je me sens si seul. Oh ! Oh !

Mon papa m´appelle I,
Ma maman m´appelle O,
Ma maîtresse m´appelle A,
Mes amis m´appellent IYOA.

(Iyoa)
Lentement d´un pas hésitant,
  En avant, toujours droit devant,
  Sautillant et puis galopant,
  Chantonnant courageusement.

Intro
IN THE GARDENS OF THE WORLD...

In the gardens of the World where innocent children live in peace,
hopping happily all around the earth, unaware of the turmoil they experience on this earth,
from the cry of their songs, suddenly, one of them escapes.

He glimpses a light which, for a moment, floods him with its mysterious rays.

LADY LIGHT'S SONG (onomatopoeic version)
Mango in ja i, si ya na o, Mango in ja i, si ya no a. (x 2)

IYOA then feels so good that he begins to follow Lady Light.

Walking with his head to the sky, for him nothing else exists. — Hello, Madame Lumière. How beautiful you are!
Fascinated by her beauty, he tries to approach her.
— My name is IYOA. My dad calls me I, my mom calls me O, my teacher calls me A, my friends call me IYOA.
Google translation
But Madame Lumière, much too loud, doesn't hear him.
She's already leaving.
— Wait for me! he shouts.
He runs, faster and faster, so as not to lose her, and this for hours, but in vain…
Madame Lumière moves further and further away... little by little, she disappears, and everything becomes dark, lifeless.

Nothing. Not a sound, not a glimmer of light.

— I'm scared...! he starts to cry.

— I feel so alone. Oh! Oh! Is there no one there?
Not knowing what to do, he sits down on a rock.
Tired, he falls asleep.

Chapter 1
CROSSING THE DESERT

Suddenly, a voice calls out to him.
"Good morning, it's already morning. Wake up!"
Before his eyes, an unfamiliar landscape of sand and stones.
"Well, aren't you answering?"
At his feet, a small, gray animal.

"But by the way, what are you doing here?"
"You don't belong to the desert people. I've never seen you here."

Iyoa is surprised.
"Good morning... are you talking to me?"
"Yes, do you see anyone else here?"
"In our country, animals don't talk," he says timidly.
"Yes, but I'm not an animal like the others." I am Mr. Grey Monitor Lizard: the Wizard of the Desert. And you, who are you?
— My name is IYOA.

IYOA'S SONG

IYOA, my name is IYOA.

My dad calls me I,
My mom calls me O,
My teacher calls me A,
My friends call me IYOA.

...and I got lost,” he says, sobbing.

Mr. Grey Monitor Lizard, very affectionate by nature, climbs onto his shoulder and tickles his ear.
— Dry your tears, my child. I'm here to help you.

IYOA, reassured, begins to listen to him.
— You see, my job is to walk in the Desert. My dad did that job, and so did my grandfather. It's me who gives courage to lost children like you, so that they can continue on their way to the land of their dreams.

Do you have a dream, IYOA?
— Oh yes, I would like Madame Lumière to become my friend. She's so pretty!
When I see her, I think I can fly like her. But when she's gone, I feel so small.

— One day, IYOA, you will see Madame Lumière again. Like a bird leaving its nest, you too will fly away.
— Do you think so?
— Yes, I'm sure of it... Do you see this path?
— Yes?
— It's the one that leads to Madame Lumière. If you take it, believe in it, and never stop, then one day you will find her.
In her ear, Mr. Grey Monitor whispers again:
— It is the path of Faith, the strength to believe. He will extinguish the fears that prevented you from moving forward, and that had chained you in the desert.

Iyoa sets off.

Under her feet, the ground moves in time with her steps.

And while the Magician has already disappeared, we hear his voice still speaking to her:

THE SONG OF THE GREY LIQUID MONKEY

(The Lizard)
Run, where the wind takes you,
Fly, above the chains,
Towards the rising horizon,
Go, towards your destiny.

Iyoa, ever lighter, never stops humming:

(Iyoa)
Slowly, with a hesitant step,
Forward, always straight ahead,
Hopping and then galloping,
Singing courageously.
